Royston Youth Action, Glasgow
Royston Youth Action, Glasgow
Royston Youth Action is the only voluntary organisation to work specifically with young people and children within Royston, the 9th most deprived area in Scotland. Created to provide children and young people with positive life-improving or life-changing opportunities.
Royston Youth Action provides a range of social, sporting, informal education and diversionary projects. This ranges from our evening drop-in sessions through to our Peer Research Projects, Friday Evening Discos and Dance classes. They provide a range of activities for young people to become involved in such as Art and Music Workshops, Junior Volunteering opportunities and Internet Access. They also provide a range of sporting activities including Male and Female Football Teams, football coaching and basketball coaching opportunities. Through these activities we aim to encourage children and young people to take positive choices regarding their future.
Roars not Whispers are working with a group of young people, most of whom English is their second language. The group are looking at racism as the issue that is the most important to them and are looking to help educate others about an issue that faces many of them on a daily basis.
